I’m passionate about love and marriage and even more passionate about helping other wives to discover their passions and chase their dreams while maintaining happy, healthy marriages. As wives, we are the real MVPs. We juggle so many different things and each and every one of us WERKS in one way or another (whether that be by holding a traditional job outside of the home, managing our own blog, business, or brand, or doing something totally different). I’m a firm believer that this is something that should be celebrated, and that’s why I created LiveLifeWell’s monthly Wives Who WERK segment. Each month, I will be interviewing a wife in order to celebrate her and what she does. I would love to feature you! If you’re a wife who would be interested in being featured or if you want to nominate someone else, don’t hesitate to contact me.
I created the More than a Wifey Wifestyle group as a place where wives can converse, connect, collaborate. One thing that I love about the group is the genuine connections that women are making and I’ve really enjoyed connecting with Mrs. Rhea Plummer. On top of being a wife and mother, Rhea is a compliance manager for a brokerage firm by day and the executive director of FabWives, a community of wives committed to love and marriage, by night. I’m thrilled to introduce you all to a woman and wife who I genuinely admire.
What makes you more than a wifey?
I live by the phrase “you can have it all.” BUT when you’re a wife, you may have to take a different route to reach your dreams. My career & family are both important to me. I recognize how important my role is to my family so while my dreams will NEVER take a back seat or be placed on hold, I have to be a little more creative in my efforts to accomplish all my goals and still maintain my sanity 🙂

How did you determine your passion?
I am very passionate about marriage. I am also a certified wedding planner and when I was actively planning weddings (up until 2015), I loved playing a key role in the next chapter in the lives of so many wives-to-be as well as the mentoring aspect that came with being a planner, but it didn’t take long for me to realize the planning aspect wasn’t fulfilling to me. I finally uncovered my passion after forming a close bond with a group of wives in my local area. There were periods throughout my marriage where I wondered if Travis and I would really be able to make it! After I began surrounding myself with positive wives who shared stories about their own obstacles and how they balance it all, I realized the “issues” I had with my husband were normal growing pains and would eventually strengthen our marriage. I created Fab Wives to assure that wives could always have a community they could go to receive affirmation that we all go through struggles in marriage and where they could also find resources to navigate them through all aspects of the life of a modern wife.
Tell us your love story! How did you and your husband meet? How long have you been married?
I’ve been married to Travis for 7 years. We met in college at Johnson C. Smith University. It wasn’t until the last semester of college that we connected and started dating.
How has your husband supported you and your dreams?
My husband’s support for my dream is indescribable! He is so passionate about my vision and is always suggesting ways for me to make an impact. Whether it’s late night sessions to help me work through an idea, marketing my content on his personal social media or just spreading the word; he always comes through! The thing I love about him is that he never makes me feel like my dreams and goals are beneath his! He is very ambitious himself and has his own company too, but if we have a schedule conflict; he is always willing to compromise and find a way to work it out. I love that he is not afraid to let me shine!
How do you balance your household/marital responsibilities and your career, blog, and brand?
It’s tough. A lot of good tools, resources and an amazing team that helps me manage Fab Wives. I am very realistic and have learned that I have to be patient and pace myself in achieving my goals. I speak up and delegate a lot more than I used to. We wives, love to do it all, but the most productive wives are the ones who are not afraid to say “I can use some help.”
What is your biggest piece of marital advice for other wives?
Find your circle of super supportive wives who love marriage. I promise these relationships will make a huge impact on your marriage. This wife life can get hectic and even confusing. It’s the simple talks & Sunday brunches with wives that give me a sense of normalcy and provide me with tips to balancing family and career.
Where do you see yourself, your family, and your career, blog, and brand in 5 years?
Moving up the corporate ladder has always been very important to me, but it’s amazing what finding your true passion can do for you! I am finally starting to realize why people walk away from high paying salaries in corporate America to turn their “hobbies” into their full time jobs. I see Fab Wives becoming the premier resource for wives wanting to connect with other wives and receive information and guidance for how to balance life as a wife who believes that she too, can have it all!
