Who else is ready for some fun in the sun this summer? With a little more than a month until the first day of summer and Memorial Day coming up soon, the countdown is seriously on. I love summer for a few different reasons, but one thing that I really look forward to is beach vacations. This summer, we have trips planned to Turks and Caicos, Anguilla, and Grand Cayman and I’m really looking forward to spending lazy afternoons by the pool with a piña colada in hand and going on a few fun boat excursions. With our first trip only a couple of weeks away, I’ve been buying swimsuits like crazy and I’m excited to share my favorite swimwear trends for this season:
Swimwear Trends I Love

Cold shoulder shirts and dresses are definitely in this season and it’s a trend that I hope is here to stay. Swimsuit designers have taken it one step further and created lovely off the shoulder swimsuits that are just as fabulous as the blouses we all know and love. I’m on the hunt for the perfect off the shoulder swimsuit to wear all summer long.
I’m a huge fan of one-pieces, and for my body type, I’ve found that swimsuits with high cut bottoms are the way to go. My favorite brand, Private Party, has a range of high cut one-pieces with fun sayings like the ones my friend and I wore during our trip to Bali a few months back.
From shoes to shirts, pieces that lace up are definitely in! My lace up flats are definitely my favorite shoes right now and I have a lace up tank top that I can’t wait to style. Whether the detail is in the front, the back, or on the sides, lace up swimsuits are just the right amount of sexy and are perfect for a day party or baecation.
Key hole tops are definitely the way to go for those who want a suit with a little va va voom. The belted one piece swimsuit that I wore during my trip to Kalkan, Turkey a while back is one of my all time favorites and I can’t wait to break it out again this summer. These suits show just the right amount of cleavage.
Mesh inset is a fun way to keep it sexy while leaving a little something to the imagination. Inspired by her own experience and personal journey, one of my best friends just launched her swimwear line, Kiwi Plum, and many of her designs feature a mesh inset either on the hip, as a sleeve, or in the top.
I, for one, love a plunging neckline that shows a little cleavage, but, sometimes these just aren’t cognizant to beach activities. Swimsuits with a high neck halter top are a bit more sporty while still fun and girly and are a great way to avoid a nip slip while jet skiing, snorkeling, or playing beach volleyball.
