This weekend was a busy one in the Jones household. Not only did we have family over for Sunday dinner and go to an important meeting about an upcoming event for our foundation, but I also had not one, but two events to attend. Being back in Atlanta has made me realize how much I missed having a busy social life while I was in Japan. I’m all about investing in myself here lately and part of that means attending networking events and conferences, not only to learn, but also to meet other young professionals. I’m a people person and I absolutely love meeting other likeminded women. Being back in a city full of successful young female entrepreneurs is a breath of fresh air. Lucky for me, I was surrounded by female entrepreneurs all weekend long at two absolutely amazing events.
On Saturday, I had an opportunity to attend an event I’ve wanted to attend for a while now. Erica’s Table of 20 is an intimate networking luncheon hosted by Erica Dias. I was honored to be invited and had an amazing time breaking break with women who are doing amazing things in the community. The event was held at Neiman Marcus’ NM Cafe and from the food to the decor and the goodies in the swag bags, everything was absolutely fabulous.
Prints are just as bold as bright colors and florals are by far my favorite print for the summertime. There is something so fun and dainty about walking around in flowers, and Erica’s Table of 20 gave me the perfect excuse to wear fun, flirty florals on a hot summer day. Summer florals can be a statement piece and I love the idea of wearing them in bright hues instead of the “safe” white and dark green color patterns that we usually see. Instead of wearing one floral piece as an accent, consider wearing a floral dress or jumpsuit and letting the print be your statement. Here are my dos and don’ts for wearing bold summer florals:
Dos and Don’ts for Styling Summer Florals
Do wear a bold lip to pick up a color in your outfit
Don’t over-accessorize – you don’t need a lot of jewelry when your outfit is already busy enough
Do carry a nude bad that won’t clash with the array of colors in your outfit
Don’t wear a black shoe – it’s just too dark for your bright fit! Keep it lively
