I love to show a little leg even when it’s cold out. Short dresses or skirts and thigh high boots are one of my favorite fashion combinations, so I try to keep my legs in good condition during the winter. When the air is cold and dry, it’s so important to give your skin a little extra TLC. Use these 5 tips to ensure that you have silky, smooth legs this winter:
5 Tips for Silky, Smooth Legs
Exfoliate: Exfoliation is so important for all of your skin, but especially your legs. It’s crucial to remove all of those dead skin cells to uncover the beautiful skin underneath. Exfoliating before you shave or wax is best.
Make a hair removal investment: Removing unwanted hair can be expensive! I opted to get laser hair removal, and while it wasn’t cheap, it was totally worth it. If you’re not up for laser hair removal (which is pretty painful) invest in regular waxing appointments or a high quality razor to keep the hair away.
If you’re going to shave, shave correctly: If shaving is the hair removal method of your choice, make sure you do it the right way. Skin experts recommend that you soak your legs for 2-3 minutes first to soften the hair, then lather up with shaving cream EVERY time! Dry shaving is not your friend.
Moisturize with the good stuff: Using a good moisturizer is of the utmost importance if you want silky, smooth legs! #PalmersCocoaTour, #HerCampusxPalmers Growing up, my mom relied on Palmer’s Cocoa Butter to keep our skin free of dark marks and scars and now that I’m an adult, I’ve found that it’s still one of my absolute favorite moisturizers. Not only does it smell great, but it’s is also enriched with vitamin E. It provides 24-hour moisture without the greasy residue. I’ve been using Palmer’s products regularly for some time now and I’ve found that it definitely improves skin tone and and lightens marks and scars over time just like my mom always said! My favorite product is the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Skin Therapy Concentrated Cream which is a little thicker than the Daily Skin Therapy and perfect for the knees. The Swivel Stick also makes an amazing chapstick!
Avoid super hot water: I love a steaming hot shower just as much as the next girl, but the truth of the matter is, it’s not the best option for your skin. Hot water dries you skin out something serious. If you want silky, smooth legs, lukewarm water is your best bet!
