I’m the planner among my group of friends, and I always find myself planning our slaycations, which is one of the reasons I decided to establish my own custom travel itinerary planning service. Although I love to travel with my husband, his availability for trips during basketball season is limited, so I do a lot of traveling with my girls. Girls’ trips are not only are a great way to reconnect with friends, but their also a fun way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From trips that are solely for relaxation and leisure to those that are dedicated to partying, there are a number of fabulous girls’ trip destinations. A few months ago, I shared 5 suggestions for fabulous girls’ trip destination in the United States and now I’m sharing my pick for girls’ trip destinations abroad.
5 Fabulous Girls’ Trip Destinations Abroad
Bali
The best girls’ trip I’ve ever been on was my trip to Bali with my mom and two of my close friends in March. As far as girls’ trip destinations go, Bali is a place that I cannot recommend enough. The water is beautiful and because of it’s lush landscape, the views are breathtaking. If you’re looking for an “Eat. Pray. Love” style vacation, Bali is definitely the place to go. From riding on elephants and white water rafting to spending days at vibrant beach clubs and visiting gorgeous temples, there is something for everyone. On top of that, the food is amazing and the spa treatments are extremely inexpensive – what’s not to love?!
Barcelona
My mother-daughter trip to Barcelona a few years ago is one that I’ll never forget. It was our first time traveling out of the country without a larger group and we could not have picked a better destination. For a girls’ trip that includes shopping, partying, sightseeing, and amazing cuisine, Barcelona is a great pick. On top of that, there are beach front views to enjoy and since the country is one that enjoys siestas in the middle of their afternoons, it’s a perfect destination for nap enthusiasts like myself. If you’re looking to take a longer trip, why not explore more of what Spain has to offer and check out Ibiza, San Sebastián, Mallorca, and Madrid, while you’re at it?
London
It’s no secret that London is my favorite city, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it makes this list! For the same reasons that New York is a great destination for a girls’ trip, London is as well. On top of the shows, the dining, the shopping, and the nightlife, there is a lot of history in England’s capital city, so there are plenty of things to see. Be sure to snap a few photos of you and your girls in front of famous sights such as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. If you have an extra day in your trip and love to shop as much as me and my girls’ do, a day trip to the outlets at Bicester Village is a must for amazing deals.
The Bahamas
If you’re looking to leave the country but want to spend less than 9 hours on a plane, the Bahamas is a great choice for a girls’ trip destination. The crystal clear water is absolutely breathtaking for groups looking for fun in the sun. Atlantis holds a special place in my heart because the resort truly has something for everyone. From drinking the day away at the Cain, the adult only “turn-up” pool, to riding water slides, enjoying fabulous meals, and spending the evenings having drinks in the casino, there are tons of things to do. I always enjoy Atlantis and will be headed back down to the Bahamas for the ultimate girls’ trip in honor of my 27th birthday next August.
Paris
It wasn’t until my second visit to Paris that I fell in love. Last August, I celebrated my 25th birthday in Paris with some of my closest friends and it was one of the best girls’ trips I’ve ever been on. Everyone says that Paris is the most romantic city in the world but I say it’s one that you can enjoy with your leading ladies as well. If you’re looking to enjoy gorgeous architecture, feast on world-class cuisine (seriously…they have A LOT of michelin starred restaurants), sightsee, get prissy at high tea, and shop, Paris is a great choice. There’s nothing quite sweeter than enjoying a croissant and some girl talk at a side-walk cafe with your best friends.
