I’m headed to the Bahamas tomorrow for a quick weekend getaway and I can’t wait. I’m officially done with all of my school work for the summer and I’m ready to enjoy a much needed break before I start my internship in the fall. Summer and travel just go together, if you ask me, and I’ve been on quite a few amazing trips in the last 2 months. Each time I travel, I wear basically the same outfit (give or take a few details). It’s easy, comfortable, and cute, so I repeat it over and over again. My formula for the perfect travel outfit is simple and I’m excited to share it with all of you.
3 Tips for the Perfect Travel Outfit
Layer: I’m always FREEZING on airplanes, so I make sure to layer so that I have long sleeves to wear while I’m traveling that I can quickly shed if I need to when I reach my destination. My favorite thing to do is to wear a button down shirt over a tank top. During the winter, I usually replace the button down shirt with a cardigan.
Minimize accessories: I usually wear dainty accessories when I travel just because, to be quite honest, bigger accessories get on my nerves. There’s nothing more annoying that having headphones get tangled in big earrings or having your wrists irritated by a bunch of bracelets on a flight. When it comes to travel day, less is more. Plus, it’s less to have to potentially take off when going through security.
Wear shoes that slip off easily: This is a big one for me. I always wear shoes that easily slip on and off when I’m traveling because it’s way easier when going through security. My feet always get cold on the airplanes, so I prefer espadrilles over flip flops in the summer time. Uggs are usually my go-to in the winter time because they’re warm but suer easy to slip off and put back on.
