Spring is FINALLY here! While I’m all about fall and winter fashion (because who doesn’t love oversized sweaters and booties), spring and summer are definitely my favorite seasons in terms of the climate. I’m not a huge fan of cold weather and I’m so glad that warmer temperatures seem to be here to stay. Spring is a great time to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather before it gets super hot and humid. The only thing that’s better than enjoying gorgeous spring weather solo is doing it with your sweetie so I’ve rounded up a few date ideas to enjoy the great outdoors around Atlanta this spring.
Wine tasting at nearby vineyards: I often forget that there are indeed quite a few vineyards only a short drive from Atlanta. Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting with your hubby at the Sharp Mountain Vineyards or Chateau Élan.
Hike up Stone Mountain: Hiking up Stone Mountain is not only a lot of fun, but it’s also a great workout! Hike to the top with your boo then reward yourselves by sharing a bottle of wine or sweet treat at the top. It’s extra romantic at sunset.
Stroll through Oakland Cemetery: The cemetery might not be your idea of a romantic afternoon, but with it’s rich history and beautiful scenery, Oakland Cemetery is definitely worth a visit. There are a variety of organized tours to choose from, or, you and your hubby can take a leisurely stroll on your own.
Shop at one of the weekend farmer’s markets: My husband is a smoothie fanatic, so we love shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables he can throw in his Vitamix. Shopping at one of the city’s many outdoor farmer’s markets is a great way to spend a beautiful Saturday or Sunday morning.
Take the Atlanta Street car: While Atlanta’s streetcar isn’t quite as picturesque as the ones in San Francisco and other parts of the country, it’s still a wonderful way to see the city in a new way. Enjoy a spring afternoon riding around Atlanta with the man in your life.
Have a romantic picnic in Piedmont Park: A walk through the park hand-in-hand with your honey is always a good time. Pack a basket full of your favorite foods, bring along a blanket, and enjoy a picnic in the park as well.
Ride the SkyViews Atlanta Ferris Wheel: What’s more romantic that a ferris wheel ride at sunset? Take in downtown Atlanta’s skyline from the SkyView Atlanta Ferris Wheel on a warm spring evening.
Enjoy a cocktail at a rooftop bar: My hubby and I love going out for drinks together and Atlanta has a plethora of nice bars and lounges no matter what you’re after. A rooftop bar is the perfect place to enjoy a cool drink with bae on a beautiful spring evening. I love the rooftop lounge at American Cut and the fun rooftop carnival feel at Ponce City Market. If you know of any other good ones, send them my way!
Catch a movie at the Starlight Drive-In Theatre: Why not spice up dinner and a movie a bit my going to dinner and a drive in movie? Atlanta’s Starlight Drive-In Theatre is a great place to spend a spring evening. Curl up in the car next to your sweetie with the windows down and enjoy a flick or two.
Sharpen your golf skills at TopGolf: A little flirty competition is a great thing. Challenge your husband to a friendly game of TopGolf at one of their Atlanta locations. The indoor-outdoor complex is a great place to enjoy the beautiful spring weather over food, drinks, and a fun time. Make it a group date and invite a few more couples if you’re feeling extra social!
What date ideas are you eager to try with your significant other this spring?
